Xbox One
The Xbox One is an eighth-generation video game console developed by Microsoft. It was first released in North America on November 22, 2013. The third console in the Xbox family, it succeeded the Xbox 360 and preceded the Xbox Series X and Series S.
The Xbox One was the first Xbox console to use Blu-ray discs for its games and could also play Blu-ray movies, DVDs, and audio CDs. It included a built-in hard drive and built-in Wi-Fi as standard. HDMI output was standard from launch. The console supports a selection of Xbox 360 and original Xbox games through backwards compatibility, which requires downloading a compatible version of each game.
The Xbox One introduced several accessibility features, including Narrator, a built-in screen reader, and Copilot, which lets two controllers act as one. It also supports button remapping and Magnifier. In 2018, Microsoft released the Xbox Adaptive Controller, a first-party adaptive controller designed for players with limited mobility.
