Xbox Series X and Series S
The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are ninth-generation video game consoles developed by Microsoft. They were first released worldwide on November 10, 2020. The fourth console line in the Xbox family, they succeeded the Xbox One. The Series X is the higher-end model with a Blu-ray disc drive, while the Series S is a lower-cost digital-only model.
Both consoles support 4K video output and HDMI 2.1. The Series X can play 4K UHD Blu-ray movies, standard Blu-ray movies, DVDs, and audio CDs. The Series S does not have a disc drive. Both include a built-in solid-state drive and built-in Wi-Fi. Both support a selection of Xbox One, Xbox 360, and original Xbox games through backwards compatibility. Xbox One games play directly from disc or digital license, while Xbox 360 and original Xbox games require downloading a compatible version.
The Xbox Series X and Series S include several accessibility features, including an improved Narrator screen reader, Copilot, button remapping, and Magnifier. They also natively support the Xbox Adaptive Controller.
