Wii

From Accessible Gaming Wiki

The Wii is a seventh-generation video game console developed by Nintendo. It was first released in North America on November 19, 2006. The fifth home console in the Nintendo family, it succeeded the GameCube and preceded the Wii U. The Wii is fully backwards compatible with GameCube games and accessories.

The Wii introduced motion-controlled gaming with the Wii Remote, which can be used as a pointer, a motion sensor, and a traditional controller. It also supports the Wii Balance Board for fitness games and the Classic Controller for traditional gameplay. The console has built-in Wi-Fi and 512MB of internal flash memory. An SD card slot allows for expanded storage. It also has two USB ports and built-in WiiConnect24, which lets the console receive updates and messages while in standby mode.

The Wii was Nintendo's first console with native internet connectivity, enabling online gaming and digital distribution through the Wii Shop Channel. It also supports wireless connectivity with the Nintendo DS for select games.
