Sega Genesis Control Pad

The Sega Genesis Control Pad is a rounded controller with two shallow grips along the lower sides.

Left side

The left thumb rests on the D-pad, while the left index finger rests on the left side of the top edge.

The D-pad is circular with a cross-shaped directional surface and a round depression in the center.

Outside the cross-shaped directional surface, each diagonal area of the D-pad has a tactile triangle pointing toward its corresponding corner.

The triangle at the upper-left points up and to the left. The triangle at the upper-right points up and to the right. The triangle at the lower-left points down and to the left. The triangle at the lower-right points down and to the right.

The D-pad is surrounded by a round, glossy surface.

A round depression surrounds the D-pad, with a change in surface level outside the depression.

Four red triangles are positioned around the D-pad. The upper triangle points up, the lower triangle points down, the left triangle points left, and the right triangle points right.

White dots are positioned at the four diagonal corners between the red triangles.

None of these shapes are tactile and cannot be felt.

The letters on the buttons are tactile and can be felt with a fingernail.
